The Farthest Distance in The World

The farthest distance in the world
is not the space between life and death,
but that you don't know I love you while I am standing in front of you.

The farthest distance in the world
is not that you don't know I love you while I am standing in front of you,
but that we can't be together though we both love each other.

The farthest distance in the world
is not that we can't be together while we both love each other,
but that I have to pretend that I don't care about you at all while I can't help missing you.

The farthest distance in the world
is not that I have to pretend that I don't care about you at all while I can't help missing you,
but that you build an unsurpassable gap between you and your lover unmercifully.

Herry Wadsworth Longfellow/

Tell me not in mournful numbers, 请别用哀伤的诗句对我讲;
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
人生的目标决不是坟墓;
Dust thou art , to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment , and not sorrow,
Is our destined and our way;
But to act, 实干
That much to-morrow.
Find us farther than to-day.
Art is long , and time is fleeting.
And our hearts , though stout and brave.
Still , like muffled drums , are beating
Funeral marches to the grave。
In the world’s broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb,driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!
Trust no future.howe’er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,act in the living Present!
Let us,then,be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
下定决心,不管遭遇怎样;
Still achieving,still pursuing
Learn to labour and to wait.

  What I Have Lived For

Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.

I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy---ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours for this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness---that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what---at last---I have found.

With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flux. A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.

Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always it brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer.

This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.

  Love Your Life

Henry David Thoreau/享利.

However mean your life is,meet it and live it ;do not shun it and call it hard names.It is not so bad as you are.It looks poorest when you are richest.The fault-finder will find faults in paradise.Love your life,poor as it is.You may perhaps have some pleasant,thrilling,glorious hourss,even in a poor-house.The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich man's abode;the snow melts before its door as early in the spring.I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there,and have as cheering thoughts,as in a palace.The town's poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any.May be they are simply great enough to receive without misgiving.Most think that they are above being supported by the town;but it often happens that they are not above supporting themselves by dishonest means.which should be more disreputable.Cultivate poverty like a garden herb,like sage.Do not trouble yourself much to get new things,whether clothes or friends,Turn the old,return to them.Things do not change;we change.Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.

  Sometimes people come into your life and you come to realize that they meant to be there to serve some sort of purpose,teach you a lesson,or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.You never know who there people may be, but when you lock your eyes with them,you know in an instant that they will affect your life in some profound way.And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible,painful and unfair at first,but in thought you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential,strength,wil or heart.Everything happens for a reason.Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.Illness,injury,love and success all take place to test the limits of your soul.Without there small tests,whatever they may be,life would be like a smooth,straight road to nowhere.It would be safe and comfortable,but dull and completely pointless.
The people you meet who change your life,and the success and the downfalls you experience,help to create who you are and who you become.Even the bad experiences can be learned from.In fact they are probably the most important ones.If someone hurts you or breaks your heart,forgive them,for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being careful when you open your heart,If someone loves,love them back,not only because they love you,but because in a way,they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.Make every day count.Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can,for you may never be able to experience it again.Tell yourself you are great and believe in yourself,for if you don’t believe in yourself,it will be hard for others to believe in you.
